National Refuse Championships
The National Refuse Championships is an annual celebration of the people who collect our waste and recycling. It’s an opportunity for men and women to meet and compete with colleagues from across the UK in a test of strength and stamina.
It gives us the chance to show appreciation for the important work they do and raises money for The Alzheimer’s Society. This family event will take place on 14th and 15th June at Weston-super-Mare Beach Lawns with rides for young children and refreshment stalls.
The championships will have heats throughout the day with over 30 teams competing, loading wheelie bins with bags of sand before pushing them 50m to empty into awaiting refuse vehicles. In addition to the racing there will be exhibitors showcasing their products including Munihire demonstrating Banksman Autobraking, so please come and say hello.
