Vehicle safety experts Vision Techniques have won the Innovation Award with VT BrakeSafe at the Motor Transport Awards – which is their second award win in two months.
The prestigious event was hosted by Jonathan Ross at the Grosvenor House in London and gathered the biggest names in the industry to celebrate success in motor transport.
The award win was thanks to their new automatic handbrake failsafe system ‘VT BrakeSafe’, which prevents vehicle runaway by applying the handbrake if a driver forgets to when leaving the vehicle.
Vehicle rollaway is an issue faced by haulage companies across the UK with the risk of vehicle damage, injury and death from the countless preventable rollaway events that happen every year from forgotten handbrakes, with no other system available in the marketplace able to prevent a vehicle runaway – until now.
This Innovation Award is the second win in two months with the failsafe system winning at the Tip-ex show in June. The system is also shortlisted for the Brake Awards in September, with a possibility of another win for the safety system.
“We’re absolutely overwhelmed with this win for VT BrakeSafe. We know that a system like this can make a huge difference to vehicle safety and it’s fantastic to be recognised by an awards event as prestigious as this.” said Dominic Benabda, Marketing Manager at Vision Techniques.
The company have been demonstrating BrakeSafe alongside their other new braking system StopSafe to customers across the country at VT hosted Safety days, with events in Rugby and London taking place later in the year.
