Reversing alarms

Functioning in reverse gear, Banksman Radar’s reversing sensors provide the driver with staged visual and audible warnings to help prevent a collision occurring - detecting any inanimate objects in the path of the vehicle.

But, more importantly, it alerts people who may have wandered into the blind hazard zone behind the vehicle.

The system is probably the most reliable means of detecting a human being and, therefore, invaluable in the prevention of injury or fatality to either employees or third parties.

Banksman Radar can be programmed to accommodate limitless vehicle types and operational requirements.

By detecting a human being with 100 per cent accuracy using its reversing proximity sensors, the system minimises false alarms.

Banksman Radar’s reversing aids will prevent potential compensation claims arising from third party property damage, personal injury or, at worst, a fatality.

How does it work?

Should a potential hazard come into the defined rear protection zone, Banksman Radar’s reversing sensors will detect its presence and alert the operator audibly.

This forces reference to the rear vision monitor and mirrors to assess the danger visually so appropriate action can be taken.

The radar head mounted on the rear of the vehicle emits a low energy microwave beam/signal, which is reflected by an object/ hazard as the vehicle reverses.

The timing of the returned beam/signal is used by the system to calculate the decreasing distance to the object, which is then translated by the in cab warning unit into visual and audible staged warnings.

The driver of the vehicle can then make an informed decision and take appropriate, preventative action.

The intelligent design of the system incorporates the ability to sense direction and therefore limits false alarms by only responding to hazards with a closing distance to the rear of the vehicle as it reverses.
