Vision Techniques was a finalist in prestigious CIWM Vehicle Safety Award Ceremony

CIWM Vehicle Safety Award

Blackburn-based Vision Techniques was last month a finalist for one of the most prestigious awards in Britain for vehicle safety.

The company, which supplies and installs its “Crew Safe” range and other vehicle safety equipment throughout the UK, was nominated for the Health and Safety Award at the Chartered Institution of Waste Management (CIWM) Awards.

Safety products from its “Crew Safe” range, for which Vision Techniques was nominated, includes VT Live, Banksman Radar, Banksman Auto Braking, Zonesafe and Traffic Alert products.

Vision Techniques was a runner-up after being short listed from companies throughout the UK.

A multinational waste management company, with bases in the UK, won the award.

Michael Hanson, Managing Director at Vision Techniques, said: “We were delighted to be finalists for such a prestigious award. It clearly shows that our products are at the forefront of vehicle safety to be recognised by the CIWM’s expert selection panel.”

The award ceremony, which was held at London’s Marriot Grosvenor Square, was a huge event with over one thousand people and organisations attending.

The BBC news broadcaster journalist Kate Silverton presented the award. There were 35 different finalists from across 11 categories.

“We have been an established vehicle safety company for over two decades now,” said Mr Hanson.

Vision Techniques is a member of the CIWM. It represents over 7,000 waste management professionals - setting professional standards for individuals working in the waste management industry.

Vision Techniques supplies many other solutions to assist with reversing and general vehicle safety - including fitting reversing cameras throughout vehicles to minimise potential risks.

It is a leading supplier of the latest security and safety equipment for all types of vehicles - including van, lorry, truck, forklift and HGV - throughout the country.

The company supplies to hundreds of local authorities, private contractors as well as waste disposal vehicle manufacturers and vehicle body-builders.
