Vision Techniques fights anti-social behaviour with mobile CCTV vehicle security systems

Fire Engine

Blackburn-based Vision Techniques is combating anti-social behaviour towards the emergency services by installing multi-camera recording systems in fire engines throughout Wales.

The company is equipping fire engines across the country with cutting edge technology - vehicle digital recording systems (DVR) and reversing cameras.

Many days worth of recordings can be searched effortlessly at the press of a button, removed and saved from the vehicle.

Vision Techniques managed to secure an all Wales Fire and Rescue Service contract for ‘on-board mobile CCTV’ and ‘digital hard disk recording’ solutions for front line fire vehicles.

Multi-camera systems are recognised as an essential tool for the police and emergency services in vehicle safety and security - deterring, apprehending and assisting in the prosecution of would-be offenders.

The fire service is the latest target for anti-social behaviour with fire fighters being under threat from violent attacks or even missiles.

The incredible vehicle safety system acts as a live in-vehicle digital video recorder.

The system has been designed to provide a cost effective, quality solution with extended durability.

Vision Techniques was awarded the all Wales contract under a national purchasing framework - which allows any other Fire and Rescue Authorities with the same issues to order equipment without the need to enter a lengthy tendering process.

In addition to providing vital security, the system has many safety benefits including preventing collisions with reversing cameras.

Andrew Kelly, of Vision Techniques, has extensive knowledge of commercial vehicle DVR and has won and managed major contracts nationwide.

He said: “I have great pride in winning this contract and we look forward to supporting more high profile organisations in the future.

“We work in a very flexible way and offer bespoke solutions to meet the customer’s exact requirements - sourcing our vehicle safety and security equipment a number of manufacturers.

“This contract will help us to grow our business within the fire and rescue service. It’s a fantastic industry to be part of and provide vehicle security systems for.

“Installing mobile CCTV on road transport is challenging. Therefore, product reliability and long term customer support are vital ingredients in achieving secure and reliable vehicle safety and security installations.

“Providing this level of customer service is something that I am particularly passionate about.”
