Vision Techniques launches the ultimate vehicle safety system - Banksman Auto Braking
Vehicle safety solutions specialist, Vision Techniques, has launched a vehicle safety system which will prevent thousands of work related deaths.
According to government research, nearly a quarter of all deaths involving vehicles at work occur during reversing - and many other reversing accidents cause costly damage to vehicles and equipment.
After two years of development, the Blackburn-based company has unveiled an innovative auto braking facility to the already highly popular and innovative reversing alarm, Banksman Reversing Radar.
Fitting reversing alarms is essential to vehicle safety in the workplace.
Banksman Auto Braking works in the same way as a ‘warning only’ reversing radar system.
But if a driver ignores the many warning signals, the brakes will automatically be applied when obstacles are around 1.5 metres away from the back of the vehicle.
The auto braking system even recognises the speed of approach - by working with the engine management system.
If the vehicle is moving quickly towards an object, the brakes are applied sooner.
The Banksman Auto Braking system and the vehicle’s electronics communicate with each other so false alarms are completely minimised.
Reversing accidents are significantly reduced because of Banksman Auto Braking's revolutionary design. The robust system is rigorously tested at the MIRA Test Laboratory.
Nigel Armstrong said: “In creating a situation of greater safety, Banksman Auto Braking provides added security and savings.
“It eliminates dozens of potential incidents - such as fatal accidents because of blind spots or people not noticing the vehicle, damage after reversing into bollards, low walls or lamp posts, or insurance claims.”
