Forklift trucks need reversing cameras – not least because forklift safety is subject to a variety of standards world wide.
In the United Kingdom, the Health and Safety Executive polices this safety.
Forklift truck operators must be trained and certified to operate forklift trucks. Certification may be required for each individual class of lift that an operator would use.
Even if a forklift driver is fully trained it is easy to make a mistake due to lack of vision and damage goods, or even collide with people.
Fitting reversing cameras minimises the risk of collisions by giving the driver all round vision.
