VT launches new vehicle safety systems at Hillhead 2014

It’s been a busy week for Vision Techniques: we’ve been rubbing shoulders with leading names in quarrying, construction and recycling at the Hillhead 2014 expo, where we launched two brand new additions to our range of innovative vehicle safety solutions…

Hillhead 2014: attracting the best in the business…

With nearly 600 registered exhibitors and an estimated 17,559 attendees from all over the world, Hillhead 2014 was an unmissable, three-day event for the best of the quarrying, construction, and recycling and waste management industries.

Held at Hillhead Quarry in Buxton, this mammoth expo covered over 140,000m² and featured engaging outdoor displays, indoor pavilions and extensive working demonstrations.

Quarry operators, waste management professionals, construction experts and other users of heavy plant and equipment were able to get up close and personal with some of the latest, greatest developments in their industries – including Vision Techniques’ newest vehicle safety solutions!

Vision Techniques SensorVision:DRIVE and VT MotionEye™

What better place than Hillhead to launch our latest technological developments? We introduced our brand new SensorVision:DRIVE and VT MotionEye™ systems – and what a great reception!

These exciting products represent a new era of intelligent design here at Vision Techniques, and we were proud to be able to show them in action.

SensorVision:DRIVE is a programmable, front-facing radar created specifically with the quarrying, construction and recycling industries in mind. Designed to improve visibility on large and unwieldy commercial vehicles, this unique radar warns drivers of hidden hazards in the vehicle’s path.

Fitted with a durable and hard-wearing casing, this Balfour Beatty-approved radar system is capable of withstanding the rigours of construction and quarrying sites, and the toll taken by bad weather.

The SensorVision:DRIVE system can be fully customised according to your vehicle’s size, shape and detection zone, and its radar patterns edited easily, allowing the unit to be attached to various vehicles in your fleet.

VT MotionEye™ is an intelligent vehicle safety camera system that tracks moving hazards in the vicinity of your vehicle and alerts your driver to their presence. This 180° ultra wide-angled reversing camera uses video analytics to process light, movement and the position of any object located within a certain radius to the rear of the vehicle.

Drivers are alerted to potential hazards in or around the vehicle’s danger zone by clear markings that appear on the in-cab monitor, as well as an audible alarm, giving drivers an extra pair of eyes – and valuable time to act.

VT MotionEye™ can be used to upgrade any existing reversing camera system, regardless of brand or type, making it an ideal choice for commercial fleet owners looking to invest in new technology or improve their current vehicle safety standards.

As well as launching our newest products, we also gave visitors a chance to take a look at our VMS reversing radar system and the Banksman auto-braking system, which remain some of our most popular products among leading industry suppliers.

Here at Vision Techniques, we specialise in the design and manufacture of vehicle safety systems that will keep your commercial fleet safe and protect both your staff and members of the public.

Our range of vehicle safety solutions for the quarrying industry caters for the specific challenges of the sector: slow manoeuvres, large blind spots, wide turning circles, hazardous equipment, and dark, dirty environments.

Likewise, our range of vehicle safety products for the construction and recycling industries takes into account the inherent dangers of the sector, helping to safeguard your drivers and the other individuals on site.
