Vision Techniques are sponsoring the Global Road Safety Award and have been nominated for the Innovation Award with BrakeSafe.
The Fleet Safety Awards 2016 take place tonight and Vision Techniques will be attending the event to sponsor an award and potentially win an award. The event takes place at the NEC and will be attended by many key players in the road transport industry.
Vision Techniques are sponsoring the award for Global Road Safety which is awarded to the organisation that has worked the hardest to improve road safety for all road users in that organisation’s local communities.
BrakeSafe, the new failsafe handbrake system developed by Vision Techniques, has been nominated for the Innovation Award. If the system wins the award tonight then it will be its third innovation award this year. BrakeSafe won the Innovation Award at the Tipex and Tankex awards evening in June and then went on to win a second Innovation Award a month later at the Motor Transport Award.
The system is designed to prevent runaways and rollaways from happening by automatically applying the handbrake if the driver forgets to when leaving the vehicle. It has been built to be a simple installation and is compatible with most vehicle models.
BrakeSafe is a strong nominee for the award due to it being unique to the industry. Whilst there are other systems that warn the driver about the handbrake’s position, BrakeSafe is the first system to automatically apply the brakes and prevent rollaways and runaways.
We would like to wish everyone good luck tonight at the Fleet Safety Awards.
