Three leading vehicle and driver compliance specialists have come together to launch a revolutionary new joint initiative that gives real-time visibility of all compliance issues on a single dashboard.
The new service, which is known as ‘Get Connected’, is the idea of partners Vision Techniques, CMS SupaTrak, and Vehicle Weighing Solutions. All experts in their individual fields the three companies have pooled their vast industry knowledge and technical expertise across a range of vehicle and driver compliance disciplines to bring about the new initiative.
Get Connected brings together the products and services of three key suppliers; Vision Techniques are industry-leaders in safety braking systems, camera technology and vulnerable road user alarms. CMS are experts at real-time data-technology, driver behaviour systems, accident investigation/monitoring and fully managed services. And Vehicle Weighing Solutions offer vehicle overload protection systems.
Jason Airey, MD of connected fleet specialist CMS SupaTrak, believes Get Connected will be welcomed by the transport and logistics industry. Jason explained: “Technology is developing very quickly and this is allowing those of us in the technology-lead telematics industry to develop new and better products and services all the time. But, customers have been telling us that they want better product integration, and systems that work together and talk to each other. Get Connected does this and brings everything together in one seamless dashboard.”
However, Get Connected goes further that just displaying related information in one place. The data is live. Therefore, whether that is information from vehicle safety cameras, overload alerts or driver tacho info, it is all real-time data.
“Live data is vital to fleet managers,” said Jason. “Operators are liable for the behaviour of their drivers and can be held accountable if, following an accident; it is shown that they haven’t proactively managed such things as how drivers are behaving behind the wheel or whether they have tacho infringements. Now that the technology to manage such things in real-time is commonplace and affordable, operators are expected to manage their compliance using available technology.”
Get Connected is underpinned with driver risk management services from Broadspire, a Crawford & Co Company, who specialise in helping operators to manage and reduce driver risk.
For fleet managers that would rather outsource the management of vehicle and driver compliance Get Connected is available as a fully-managed outsourced service. Data is fed to the Get Connected monitoring centre where industry experts manage the data feed in real-time and alert you to problems. Get Connected is offered at no additional cost to customers.
“This system is like the heart of the safety systems on the vehicle. Fleet managers can monitor how the systems are doing, all through a single dashboard. We are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to working alongside CMS Supatrak and VWS for the foreseeable future.” Steve Hurd, National Sales Manager at Vision Techniques.
