Live Q&A session at VT Safety day in Rugby

Posted on 14th Oct, 2016 by Dominic Benabda

On Thursday 13th October, we held our fourth VT Safety Day in Bruntingthorpe, in association with Rugby Council, British Gypsum and JPE Aggregates.

The event was a huge success, with over 85 delegates in attendance all having the opportunity to have hands-on demonstrations with our three braking systems highlighting the event – Banksman, StopSafe and BrakeSafe.

We also had one-to-one question and answer sessions live on stage with technical manager Nigel Armstrong and the sales team as well as a live case study interview with Kirk Ennis, development manager from British Gypsum.

The day was highlighted with industry professional speakers from CIWM and the RHA, with deputy chairman Chris Murphy and Operations manager Rhys Williams opening both the morning and afternoon presentation sessions.

The whole event was an opportunity to showcase the new safety systems on vehicles borrowed from Rugby Council, JPE and British Gypsum.

Attendees were able to have StopSafe demos from inside the cab of the Rugby vehicle, driving around a private section of the Bruntingthorpe track – accelerating the vehicle to press the button to see how well the controlled stopping system works.

Later, the British Gypsum vehicle was available to demonstrate BrakeSafe, with attendees sitting in the driver’s seat and leaving the vehicle to show how the failsafe system instantly activates if a driver forgets.

“The day has been a massive success.” Said VT Marketing manager Dominic Benabda, “We were overwhelmed with the amount of attendees making it to Bruntingthorpe today which is a challenge in today’s climate – and everyone enjoyed our hands-on demonstrations and interactive presentations.”

A wealth of videos from the event will soon be available from the VT Youtube page if you were unable to attend the event, and we hope to make the presentations available to everyone in the near future.

Vision Techniques hope to complete their run of Safety Days with an event in London in the near future, with the hope to announce a new calendar of events in 2017.

“We’ll definitely be back to do this again, it’s been a great day for us and all of our guests. Watch this space for more!”
