The firm has chosen to install the award-winning Banksman Auto Braking into over 80 of its vehicles to reduce collisions and operating costs.
Vision Techniques engineers have been working hard abroad and at home to fit the reversing safety system into recycling, refuse and trade waste vehicles.
The operations team is currently working to strict logistical deadlines to upgrade the vehicles as quickly as possible.
Operations Manager Richard Hall said: “This is a very important contract and we are putting a lot of manpower into it.
“The firm understands how vital Banksman Auto Braking is to reducing reversing collisions and they know it will save them a huge amount of money in operating costs.”
The construction firm decided to go ahead with the installation after seeing the system’s money saving and collision risk reduction first hand.
Banksman Auto Braking constantly monitors the rear of refuse and waste vehicles identifying any potential hazards whilst reversing.
If a danger presents itself, Banksman Auto Braking emits a warning alarm alerting the operator.
If the operator chooses to ignore the warning signals, the brakes will automatically be applied.
Banksman Auto Braking is designed to protect operatives, assets and the public.
The Banksman intelligent product family has been recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for improving levels of vehicle reversing safety.
