Flickering images on reversing camera systems

Monitors on reversing camera systems have two main standards of signal – PAL and NTSC. If you buy a reversing camera, it’s important to know which the monitor takes.

If you have the wrong type, it may flicker badly or not display at all. Not only is this annoying but also is potentially dangerous because it affects depth perception.

Modern reversing camera monitors take both – although some don’t. In this case, it is likely you have the wrong type of reversing camera.

Most companies should exchange these items if they are returned in the original packaging and are in saleable condition.
