Another great year at APSE Aviemore

This years APSE event in the Hilton Coylumbridge Aviemore had a fantastic turnout with twenty-nine of the thirty-two Councils in Scotland attending the event. We exhibited at the two-day event and attended the keynote seminars on fleet management and transport compliance.

VT Live recording reduces accidents at East Riding of Yorkshire Council

With 450 members of staff providing waste, recycling, street cleansing and grounds maintenance services to a population of 300,000 people, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Group Manager, Paul Tripp, has a wealth of responsibility.

Paul and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council have found that by adding recording systems to their vehicles they’ve seen a significant drop in accidents, a growth in staff confidence and increased protection against third-party claims.

Cyclist’s tragic death prompts further calls for improvements to road safety

The spotlight on road safety has intensified as yet another cyclist was killed on London’s roads on Wednesday – the fifth death this year. The cyclist, aged 47, crashed with an HGV driver at a junction described by police as ‘notorious’ for accidents and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after a medical crew arrived.

New road safety scheme launched to fight accidents involving cyclists

In a welcome move for cyclists, North Yorkshire Council has launched a new road safety scheme as part of their efforts to combat the increasing number of accidents involving bike users. Think! Bike posters and billboards will be set up along popular cycling routes in North Yorkshire, and targets motorists by urging them to pay closer attention to cyclists on the road.
